ANALISIS PENGARUH DISKONTINUITAS TERHADAP KESTABILAN LERENG TAMBANG

Abstract
Slope stability of mining is one of the factors that influence mineable reserve calculating and stripping ratio. This means that these factors will be significant in further economic evaluation. One factor that significantly influence slope stability of mining in wich the slope is excavated is discontinuity. The discontinuity refers to naturally occurring breaks in the rocks such as tectonic joints, faults, lithological boundaries, sheeting joints, bedding planes and bedding plane joints, cooling joints and metamorphic fabrics.
The properties of discontinuity relative to stability include orientation, roughness, waviness, spacing, aperture, persistences, infilling and seepage. There are four general modes of slope failure caused discontinuity: plane failure, wedge failure, toppling failure and circular failure. The discontinuity data often occurs in three dimensions with a degree of natural scatter and in order to able to use the data in design, it necessary have available an analysis technique that is called kinematic analysis. In case study in Batu Hijau Open Mine Project at north sector, kinematic analysis of geotechnical logging data refes to occur plane failure.
